We had an epic week in Pawhuska, Oklahoma for our Mastermind workshop with Rural Revival. Over 60 small business owners (all women!) came together for a week to take their businesses to the next level! Everyone worked HARD each day, but we all found plenty of time to explore Pawhuska, visit the local watering hole (connected to a custom hat shop!) eat amazing food, and build strong friendships. The Lickskillet Ladies of WB Beef wrote up such a great recap of the trip – I just had to share!
We ventured to Pawhuska, Oklahoma on May 11th to spend four days at an M5 Entrepreneurs small business and small town revival workshop. We gained a lot of great ideas to take home with us but the friendships we made were priceless – it was so fun to meet so many like minded gals in the Ag industry. We’re excited to stay in touch and watch their dreams unfold.
To kick off our week we had a long table dinner at the beautiful Coy T Ranch. It was an experience like no other. Mary from Five Marys greeted us, along with the other instructors and speakers when we arrived. We then got to meet and chat with all of the other M5 Entrepreneurs and sip on cocktails provided by Whiskey Sisters Bartending. We completely stuffed ourselves with the most delicious five course meal catered by Royers Round Top Cafe. Salad, roasted quail, cheese grits with shrimp, tenderloin over mashed potatoes, and the best salted chocolate pie and ice cream. I was down to the last notch on my belt by the end of the night!
We encountered the friendliest people in Pawhuska! During one break I stepped outside to visit with town local, John (and his dog, Jethro). He told me all about the upcoming movie, Killers of the Flower Moon, being filmed right next door. Never did run into Leonardo DiCaprio though… shucks.
Everyone is so genuine there and it was interested talking to the business owners and hearing their story on how Ree Drummond saved the ‘ghost town.’ Very inspiring.
Pawhuska is PACKED with history. We were lucky enough to stay at the Triangle building, known now as the Frontier Hotel. Built in 1913, it was mainly used for the offices of over 100 lawyers practicing as ‘guardians’ of Osage Indians during the oil boom. Constructed from steel and brick it is one of only 5 buildings like this left in the US. I felt much comfort knowing we were safe from tornadoes
I could go on and on about the people we met and sights we saw, but it’s best you just go and see for yourself… you won’t be disappointed!
We gained a lot from this four day experience. We gained ideas, knowledge, inspiration, lifelong friendships, and a lot of weight!
I have never eaten so well in my life!!! And with a group full of mainly farm girls, we all grew up knowing you ate what was on your plate… we didn’t let much go to waste!
The memories made will last forever and I’m grateful for family and friends back home who helped make this trip possible.
Happy trails to all of you M5 Entrepreneurs, until we meet again!
